Silver reinforced glass ionomer. Easy to mix, activated by mixing with water. Radiopaque material which packs like amalgam. Requires minimal cavity preparation. Low thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion close to that of a tooth. Contains and releases fluoride ions.

Indications:

• Repair to crown margins and as a core build up under crowns
• Base under amalgam and composite restorations
• Class I and II cavities in deciduous teeth and selected permanent teeth
• Long term temporary restoration.
